Law Career Development

Law School is not comprised of studying and knowing the Black letter law. A successful law school career school is comprised of four elements. One of the elements is to study, learn the law, and be prepared for class.

The second element is to get good grades since grades are a reflection of you and the school.

The third element is being able to place all the legal concepts that you have learned into action. This includes participating in clerkships, internships, or externships, which will be critical in developing your practical skills and building up your legal experience.

Last, but not least, is networking, which will allow you to make connections with alumni and members of the legal community. Networking will not only assist you in expanding your legal career as a law student, but will also serve as a gateway to your career as a practicing attorney. As you will quickly learn, the legal community, as big as it is, is truly very small, and who you know, as well as your reputation, will carry you a long way.
