In a red-carpet ribbon cutting ceremony, The Irvine Chamber of Commerce, the Orange County Bar Association, the Irvine City Council and Irvine Mayor Steven Choi, welcomed Western State College of Law to its new location at 1 Banting, Irvine on the evening of Friday, April 29, 2016.
Western State Dean & Vice Chancellor, Allen K. Easley, addressing the 120 guests assembled, before cutting the ceremonial ribbon, used the occasion to thank those staff, faculty and community members who were especially instrumental in bringing the move to fruition. Orange County Bar Association President, Todd Friedland, noted what a distinctive presence the school had become in the professional community. Mayor Choi reminded everyone what a perfect fit Western State is for the professional and educational environs of Irvine. Chamber President, Isaiah Leslie, echoed Choi’s thoughts, reminding those present that Irvine’s professional resources will be valuable in training legal professionals
In a special ceremony following the Ribbon Cutting, generous scholarship donors, William & Carol McCune, announced the recipients of the 2016 McCune Scholarship. They are: Christine Austin, Robert Dagmy, Zoha Khan, Elizabeth Kircher, and Alexander Shaaban.
