Rhonda Cohen was born and raised in Queens, New York. The eldest of three siblings, her parents encouraged her to attend college to become a self-sufficient professional capable of overcoming any obstacles in life. In New York City, she earned a joint BA degree in Political Science and Communications, followed by a graduate degree/MA specializing in Political Science/American Government. Rhonda wrote her Master’s Thesis on Women in the American Prison System. After getting married, she moved to California with her husband, who was a Captain in the United States Air Force serving as a dentist.

In Southern California, Rhonda obtained her JD degree from Western State College of Law, which she attended with her younger brother who became a workers compensation specialist. She continued to further her education and obtained a Masters in School Counseling and a Pupil Personnel Services Credential. Rhonda is happily married and has three grown children, two physicians/surgeons, and a dentist, whom she advised as their career counselor. She is also a proud grandparent. Her dog is an important part of their close-knit family.

Rhonda feels honored and privileged to work at Western State College of Law, and she finds great fulfillment and joy in helping individuals achieve their career goals, just as she did for herself and her children.
