Explore every opportunity presented to you to find out what interests you!
Julie Cooper, 3LBLA Secretary
What field(s) of law interests you most:
Corporate Law and Business Formation.
Who are your role models:
My Grandmother, Sara Reyna. My grandmother has been through many obstacles throughout her life, but she has always found a lesson and a blessing through each one. She taught me the importance of handwork and to not dwell on the past, but to focus on the future. I inherited the most beautiful dreams and hopes from my grandmother, and I aspire to achieve as much in this life as she has.

I have a 10-year-old Corgi, named Valentina!
Advice for new students:
Try not to be so hard on yourself! Law school is a marathon, so make sure to give yourself time to do the things you love! Also, make sure you try as many different internships/externships, you never know what you truly like or don’t like until you try it!

Immigration, Juvenile Justice, and Business Law.
Who are your role models:
Ruth Bader Ginsburg and my parents.

I can identify any ingredient in any dish I try in one bite or sip.
Advice for new students:
Don’t let go of what you love to obtain what you want. Law school is an amazing goal to have, but don’t lose sight of yourself and your priorities amidst the stress of studies.

Civil litigation and Personal Injury.
Who are your role models:
Fernanda Gonzalez (recent UC Hastings graduate); My Uncle Steve, Aunt Mira, and most importantly my parents.
Please share a fun fact about yourself:
I traveled to South Korea alone at the age of 12 and I am the 2L Student Rep for the Orange County Korean American Bar Association (OCKABA).
Advice for new students:
It’s easy to get sucked into comparing yourself to others, but we need to remember that each of us are unique in our own way and what might work for one person may not work for another. It’s important to figure out what works for you and to embrace the fact that you are on this path for a reason and truth is the process!
