We are thrilled to announce the 2024-2025 Women’s Law Association (WLA) Executive Board! This committed team of students is focused on advocating for women at Western State. The board looks forward to creating a supportive and inclusive environment and anticipates a year dedicated to empowering women, fostering growth, and forming meaningful connections.
Meet the Executive Board:
Jennifer Fazio, 2L
WLA Co-President
What field(s) of law interests you most:
I like it all!
Who are your role models:
My parents are my role models because they taught me the importance of hard work, advocacy, a growth mindset, and treating others with respect and kindness.
Please share a fun fact about yourself:
My two children, Andrew and Zachary, quiz me on rule statements for school. More than a year after Professor Jones’s Criminal Law class, my oldest can still recite the rule for First-Degree Murder.
Advice for new students:
Western State professors care about students, so don’t be afraid to attend their office hours.

WLA Co-President
What field(s) of law interests you most:
Civil Litigation and Personal Injury.
Who are your role models:
My Uncle Steve, My Parents, & Fernanda Gonzalez (recent USF law grad).
Please share a fun fact about yourself:
I traveled to South Korea alone at the age of 12.
Advice for new students:
It’s easier said than done, but learning not to compare yourself to others is the best practice. People learn differently, people retain information differently, and perform certain tasks differently. This is not a one size fits all environment, so once you learn how you perform best, stick to it and disregard what other students are doing!
WLA Vice President
What field(s) of law interests you most:
Criminal Law, Personal Injury, and Immigration Law.
Who are your role models:
My parents are both my biggest role models who work so hard for me to be able to attend school. As immigrants, they have always encouraged me to pursue higher education and I hope I can make them proud.
Please share a fun fact about yourself:
I have a black belt in Tae-kwon-do!
Advice for new students:
Dream big. There might be times when you doubt yourself but you are in law school and made it so far for a reason, so always believe in yourself no matter what. You are capable of everything you want in life!
WLA Class Representative
What field(s) of law interests you most:
The field of law that interests me most is criminal and family law.
Who are your role models:
My hobbies include fostering guinea pigs, volunteering at homeless shelters and correctional facilities, and traveling the world.
Please share a fun fact about yourself:
A fun fact about myself is that I am 100% Egyptian!
Advice for new students:
The advice I would offer to new students is to never give up. Law school can be incredibly challenging, and there will be moments when you feel defeated. But remember, the learning process can be frustrating—yet it’s also profoundly rewarding. Embrace the struggle, and push through the tough times. The growth that comes from challenging yourself and persevering is what makes the journey beautiful in the end. Keep going, because the effort you put in now will shape your future in ways you can’t yet imagine.
